We often encounter people who are strugling with “high maintenance”, “clingy”, “needy” dogs that don’t give their humans any space and are very unsure of other humans.

Today for #socializationsunday we wanted to take a moment to focus on small dogs and puppies!

Puppies are super snuggly and small dogs and toy breeds are super portable. The challenge is that without learning some independence, you can end up with a super attached dog that won’t let you out of their sight.

Give your dog a sense of balance between holding, carrying, walking on the leash, and socializing with other humans and dogs. Use enrichment games and playtime to stimulate their brain and encourage healthy development.
