Today, for #TrainingTipTuesday, we wanted to share Nico’s story.

Nico’s parents rescued him in early 2023, and things were really tough in the beginning. Nico was super anxious, always stressed, and didn’t sleep at all. They even considered taking him back, but really wanted to give Nico a great life.

After a really difficult first five months, they eventually both took a week off work to help Nico relax. He finally started to calm down a little.

Wanting to improve their relationship with Nico, he joined the #LeadTheWay community to learn some manners. Nico wasn’t listening to his parents well and was so excited to see other dogs that he had even jumped out of the vehicle to say hi! Walking him was no fun, and having people over was quite the ordeal.

As you’ll see in this video, we’ve been able to help Nico learn to focus, listen, and even stay calm when someone rings the doorbell or knocks on the door! This was our first private lesson at Nico’s house! Nico is in our #SafeDog program, which focuses on keeping your dog safe at home and around the neighborhood.
