Socialization with your dog can occur with more than people, dogs and cats, but horses and other animals too! Here is Aubrey meeting a horse while out on a hike. This was her first encounter up close and the horse was interested in meeting her. Aubrey’s mom moved at Aubrey’s comfort level and had a successful introduction. Good girl, Aubrey! 💖🐾💖
When socializing your dog, remember to move at your dog’s pace, getting closer when they feel comfortable, and creating some distance if your dog is uncomfortable (or just too excited!). Bring treats and have a great time! If you need help or want to work on this with your dog, give us a call!
